Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional goodness as the ground of our existence and as the basis of a secular path of meditation that can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings. This sequence of programs constitutes a path of nonaggression born from the bravery and gentleness of meeting our world without bias or judgment. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life in our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.
Shambhala Training Levels begin Friday evening with an opening talk by the Director, a senior teacher, which sets the stage for the activities of the weekend. Saturday and Sunday include meditation instruction, sitting and walking meditation practice, additional talks and discussions, one-on-one interviews, and a celebration!
The cost for each weekend in the Heart of Warriorship series (Levels I - Level V) is $125 for members and $140 for nonmembers. There is a Generousity Policy that provides assistance for students, seniors, and people with limited income. Registration begins at 6:30 on Friday evenings.
