Colorado Legislative Update
HB21-1142: Eyewitness Identification Showup Regulations is a bill making its way through the Colorado State Legislature. Center member Jackie Larner is part of Together Colorado, one of the bill’s sponsors. She extends an invitation to us all:
Do you wish you could be active in understanding and pursuing the elimination of institutional racism in Colorado? Here is a simple but important opportunity. On Sunday, May 16th at 12 noon, Together Colorado will present a 30-minute slide show over Zoom to our sangha on the policing practice of “showups” as part of suspect identification. If you are able to attend the presentation (or watch the short video below), you can then share with others what is a showup, why it is racist, and how we can end this unfair police practice.
