The classes will include sitting meditation, instruction, and discussion, all based in the view of the Shambhala Principle. 

The classes will explore the basic tenets of contemplative parenting:

  • Mindfulness practices to help us understand, appreciate and connect with ourselves and our children.
  • How to parent without rewards and punishments.
  • How to foster unconditional love between ourselves and our children.
  • Practical applications for specific situations, challenges and behaviors.
  • How we can deepen our insight, to improve the quality and enjoyment of parenting.


The class is also an opportunity to connect with other parents experiencing similar challenges and inspiration.

PRICING: $135 for first parent ("Regular Price"), $100 for second parent. Please register separately and choose the appropriate price.

CHILD CARE AVAILABLE:  $5 for 1st child, $3 for each additional child. Payable at each class by check or cash.


TEACHERS:

Dr. Andra Brill is a writer, speaker and mindful parenting coach.  She is the founder and senior consultant at HappyMindfulFamilies.com, where she offers simple strategies for raising happy, well-balanced children.  Using her unique blend of mindfulness practices, psychology and neuroscience, Andra improves the well-being of modern families looking for sanity in our increasingly busy world.  In her spare time, Andra enjoys backpacking, impromptu dance parties in the kitchen and reading aloud with her husband and daughter.

 

Steve Sachs is an innovator in the growing field of Contemplative Parenting. He is an adjunct faculty member at Naropa University, a Lead Teacher at Alaya Preschool, and a student of Shambhala Buddhism. Steve co-founded Eastern Sun Academy (a Contemplative elementary school) in 2005.  He is Montessori-certified and the author of numerous articles on contemplative education. Steve has been a preschool educator since 1983.
