Join us for exploring the essential writings of Pema Chödrön, based on The Essential Pema Study Guide, which will be shared with class participants. Over the course of four weeks, we will delve into the themes Ani Pema Chödrön so beautifully illustrates in her writings: Befriending Ourselves, Benefiting Others, and Opening to the World as It Is. The class format includes sitting meditation, a brief talk or overview, and class discussion. No experience necessary, just interest in exploring the themes for living with an open heart as taught by Pema Chödrön.
Beloved American Tibetan Buddhist teacher, author, nun and mother, Pema Chödrön has inspired millions of people from around the world who have been touched by her example and message of practicing peace in these turbulent times. She is an American Tibetan Buddhist ordained nun and disciple of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who is the founder of Shambhala. Chodron has written many books and is the director of the Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Shastri Dhi Good leads the class. A practicing Buddhist since 1990, she was ordained into the lay order of the Lotus in the Flame Sangha at the Denver Zen Center in 1995, and became a student of Shambhala in 2005. She is the director of Shambhala Online, which offers live events, courses and online programs.
Partial attendance is also welcome for $30 per class (or what you can afford). When you register, list date(s) you will attend in your registration comments, and use the "pay what you can afford" option to enter your payment amount.
