We develop kindness toward ourselves and others through practical methods. We emphasize the joy and invigoration that comes from discipline. The Lion dignity represents the qualities of cheerfulness, health and freedom from doubt. There is a natural inquisitiveness about other beings and the world around us. We become aware of karma - causes and conditions - and we are able to interact in the world with virtue. It is through the discipline of virtue that we are able to rouse cheerfulness, energy and joy in our life.

Prerequisite: No prerequisite -- open to the public.
Recommended: Meditation in Everyday Life and/or Contentment in Everyday Life is the recommended preparation, but not required.

Joy in Everyday Life is the third of the five weekly courses that accompany the Shambhala Training levels. It is recommended either before or after Shambhala Training Level III, and may also be taken on its own. Shambhala Training Level III will be offered on March 9-11.

The Way of Shambhala series is presented by a dedicated team of experienced Shambhala teachers under the guidance of the Shambhala lineage holder, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

Shastri WuenschShastri Denise Wuensch began practicing and studying Tibetan Buddhism in the mid-1970’s and is a senior student of Sakyong Mipham Rinponche. Our Generosity Policy: We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what works for you, and offer as much of the program fee as you can.

To arrange for this, please contact us in advance of this Program at [email protected]

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “Patron Price.” Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
