This course presents introductory teachings and tools for working with meditation in everyday life. With simple instructions and support, mindfulness meditation practice helps us discover greater stability, strength and clarity. We can improve the quality of our daily life and deepen our experience through the practice of meditation.

This is not a course in the conventional sense and you will not be tested at any point. It is an invitation to explore these teachings personally and experientially and to inquire into their truths.

Please plan to attend all five evenings. The first and last classes are especially important.

This course is open to all - there are no prerequisites. It is designed to complement Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human, or may be taken on its own.

Denise WuenschShastri Denise Wuensch began practicing and studying Tibetan Buddhism in the mid-1970’s.  She is a senior student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in the lineage of Shambhala Buddhism, and teaches weekly at the Denver Shambhala Meditation Center.  She has served at Naropa University as both a Teaching Assistant and Clinical Supervisor in the Master’s Degree Contemplative Psychotherapy Program.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Capital Hill, and also serves as a hospice social worker for Pinnacle Hospice Care.

Martina BoueyMartina Bouey is a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and has been an active member of the Shambhala community for over 15 years.  She has been teaching within the Shambhala Buddhist tradition for the past 5 years. In her working life, Martina consults with local, national and international nonprofits and philanthropists on board governance, charitable advising, communications, operations, financial management, and program development.

The Way of Shambhala series provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation and is composed of Shambhala Training Levels I-V, each followed by a five-week course. This series is designed to be applied to the complexity of our daily lives, and to develop courage and sanity in these troubled times of uncertainty.

Our Generosity Policy: We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what works for you, and offer as much of the program fee as you can.

To arrange for this, please contact us in advance of this Program at: [email protected].

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “Patron Price.” Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
