The Shambhala Sadhana is a confident, resounding proclamation of the view at the heart of the Shambhala teachings:  All beings - you, me, and our society - are basically good. Social Meditation allows us to train with this view while we practice and interact with each other.

At this time of deep division (and even at times when not much is happening at all) these proclamations are provocative and utterly countercultural, challenging our habitual beliefs about ourselves, our neighbors and the society that we create together. Together, the Shambhala Sadhana and Social Meditation remind us of the power of the awake human heart and the possibility of a good human society when circumstances spin us around and leave us feeling disoriented, doubtful and confused.

Everyone is welcome and invited to join together as a community for this practice regardless of experience level or age. Families please feel welcome to bring children.  During these practices we will all be in the same room, but we have enough space to have children join us on the cushion or get involved in quiet activities in the shrine room while we practice!  There are no prerequisites. The Shambhala Sadhana is open to everyone during the full moon community practice whether you’ve received or practiced it before. Social Meditation is always open to everyone.

Participants are strongly encouraged to stay for the full session and participate in both practices. To support our practice, the shrine room will be closed during the Shambhala Sadhana and Social Meditation. We respectfully ask that people do not enter or exit the shrine room while the door is closed.
