Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year ... or "Losar" in Tibetan. Come celebrate the Year of the Water Snake!

This is a time for our community to greet the New Year and to enjoy each other’s company. The Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche will give his Shambhala Day address live from Halifax at 11:00am, which will be shown as part of the morning events. SMCD also has some very special events planned during the evening - including the Sakyong's address (recorded from earlier in the day), several ceremonies including welcoming New Members, Oaths for the retiring Acting Director Team and the Installation oath for SMCD's next Executive Director. We also will have special Children's Activities.

Everyone is welcome for this festive day - especially families and children during our evening gathering!

If you only plan to attend only the morning events, there is no need to register.

For those planning to attend the evening events ... "yes," please register below so we can order enough food and set up the space well. For families with children, please include name(s) and age(s) of your child(ren) in the "comment" field when registering - thank you!
