This four-part training is an experiential introduction to working with conflict and emotional energy, transmuting obstacles in relationships, and fostering social harmony amidst difficulty. Led by Karuna Training founder and Executive Director Melissa Moore, this program introduces the view and modalities of contemplative psychology as taught and experienced in Karuna Training over the past 20 years.

This workshop will provide participants with tools to cultivate kindness, harmony, and inclusion in situations of difficulty, conflict, and aggression. The workshop has four parts, which will be presented on four Wednesdays in September:

1. Working with Aggression and Difficult Relationships- Participants will identify a relationship they wish to attend to (which may remain confidential throughout the training) and in which there is a history of difficulty, struggle, or aggression.

2. The Art of Apology – This section includes practices of deep reflection on our personal journey, as well as investigations into taking responsibility for our role in conflict, discovering where we find ourselves able, and unable, to do so.

3. The Healing Power of Forgiveness – This class is an experiential exploration of the art of forgiveness, exploring modalities for applying forgiveness to an active relationship, as well as discovering and acknowledging when we are unable to do so.

4. Sharing the Journey and Transmuting Relationships- In this concluding meeting we will put it all together, and participants share aspects and insights from their own work and journey with transforming aggression into wisdom.
