The Shambhala Meditation Center of Denver (SMCD) is honored to host this exceptional time with three "well-sourced" and passionate activists (bios are below). The morning begins at 8:15 AM with a light breakfast, then moves into a panel discussion with a facilitated conversation (Q&A) beginning at 9:00 AM. Timely and informative topics will include:

  1. Inside Information on our U.S. Southern Border,
  2. Black Institutional Racism in Colorado, and
  3. The beginning and persistence of Anti-Semitism and Anti-Zionism.

Panelists:
Vickie Wilhite has a BS from Regis and a MBA from DU-Daniels College of Business. They are currently a Director and Treasurer of Together Colorado. As its representative, they conduct classes for first year cadets at the Police Academy concerning issues of race and culture. In their earlier life, they were a singer in a well-known band and later a CPA for various well-known Colorado corporations such as Sports Authority and Hunter Douglas. 
 
Dr. Ernestine Garcia received her BA from the University of Wyoming, her M.Ed. from CSU and her PhD. from ASU receiving one of its first full-time scholarships from the Hispanic Border Leadership Institute. She has been an elementary school teacher, principal and administrator and currently is an officer with the Democratic Party in the Adams County Area.
 
Jacqueline Larner has been a Buddhist practitioner since 1995 and currently leads SMCD's JEDI team. She was also a long time member of B’nai Havurah and lived in Israel on a kibbutz during the summer of 1979, where she pursued her studies in Ancient, Holocaust and Women’s Histories. She received her MA and MSW in the 1980’s and taught Women’s History and Studies classes and later Trauma and Recovery classes at the University of Denver (DU) for many years.
 
All three women have chosen in their Third Act to be activists for Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI).
